LIFEgroups

Be something.  Give something.  Connect your life to the lives of others.  If you’re really gutsy, join those who are needy, poor, marginalized, and forgotten.  Through groups of committed ministry partners, connect in conversation with those who are ‘lost’, leaving the church, rethinking the faith as nomads, exiles, and prodigals.  Life is short, but we can do something that matters—something that lasts.  Connect now.  Spring semester LIFEgroups are starting!  Contact Dennis at dbachman@newsongsd.org for more information.

Fitness Groups 

These groups offer top-notch training and support to encourage members to be as healthy as they possibly can--in mind, body and spirit.  We believe that God desires for the whole of our being to be healthy (including our bodies) in order to serve and glorify Him in this world.  The Fitness Ministry provides not only a place for people to workout together, but to share and experience community and fellowship in a fun and refreshing environment as well.  Come join the fun!

Craft Crowd

We aim to chat, relax, share, learn, practice, grow, create, and bond through crocheting, knitting, scrapbooking, sewing, embroidering, and cross-stitching.  We hope to build relationships and create beauty through crafts.

We'll be hanging out, crafting the first Tuesday of each month at 7:30 pm at NewSong Church in San Dimas (meeting at a church, but this group is not intended for church-goers only) to craft together, share our projects, teach each other, and bond.  We hope you will join us!

Heaven Study Group 

This group welcomes women, ages 50 and up, to learn together about heaven and what the bible teaches about eternal life.  Great discussions, solid community, wonderful support.  Don't miss out!

Community Garden Group 

This group seeks to draw together those who are interested in launching a community garden at NewSong's campus.  Activities will include developing the strategic plan, writing grant proposals, submitting paperwork to the appropriate legal agencies, designing the garden, and completing all other necessary action steps relative to the launch of this important outreach project.

Courageous Men - "Wild at Heart"

A multi-week course designed to help you discover and dissolve the barriers between you and the man of integrity you were destined to be.  As a result of your participation, you will receive a renewed faith in God's purpose for you and your life.  You will feel empowered and convicted to minister to your wife, children, work and community as a courageous man.

What is a LIFEgroup?
A LIFEgroup is a small group of people who meet regularly to encourage one another in their journey towards Christ. The group strengthens each member through prayer, encouragement, and a vision for those who do not yet know Christ. Groups are purposed for edification (building one another up) and mission (bringing Christ to your community).

Why should I join a LIFEgroup?
We consider LIFEgroups to be one of the most important ways to experience connection and community at NewSong. Through a LIFEgroup, you are able to learn about the faces you meet on Sunday and share in your spiritual journey with others—encouraging one another as you live, learn, grow and reach out to others. God doesn't want any of us to be left to walk alone.

When, where and how long do these groups meet?
LIFEgroups meet on various days and nights of the week in homes throughout the community. Some groups meet every week and others meet twice a month. Individuals and groups have the freedom to determine how long they stay in a LIFEgroup and how long the group lasts.

What about childcare?
We leave it up to each group to work out their own childcare. Some groups look to include children in part or all of the meeting, while other groups prefer to not have children at their meetings. Some groups rotate the care of the children between group members and others hire someone to care for the children.

What will we study?
Most groups base their discussions on the previous weekend's sermon. The group meeting provides an opportunity to discuss how the sermon works out in real life. Other groups choose to study different curriculum based on group interest.

I'm interested.  How do I proceed?
Joining our NewSong Inside-Out group on Sunday nights (6:30 - 8:00 pm) at the church sanctuary is a great way to explore becoming part of a LIFEgroup. Or you may decide to start a LIFEgroup yourself. If you'd like to explore bringing some people together to form a new group, please click the "Interested in Starting a LIFEgroup?" link and contact Newsong. A third option is to pick up the current list of open LIFEgroups and try out various groups until you find the right fit.
