Summary: Why do actions speak louder than words? How might doing more acts of mercy and charity make you a stronger Christian? The apostle Paul declares that followers of Jesus are saved to do good works. The Christian religion is not a solitary, self-focused religion but one that is devoted to “social holiness” as John Wesley was fond of saying. The spiritual disciplines of service and works of charity are how we work out our salvation and means to experience God’s grace, grow in our faith, love others.
