Speaker:     John Selbak
Summary:     We will explore the scriptures to develop the theme of God’s concern and commands for justice, and how God frequently favors just action over pious acts.  We examine the basis of justice and the equal worth of individuals, and explore the meaning of God having created humanity as image bearers.  We then contrast that with the reality in the way in which we view and value others.   We conclude with an examination of the proper motivation for justice: it should not be because we are bombarded with the existence of so many needs, nor from guilt because of our privilege.  We should act justly because we are to love one another as surely as God has loved us, from serving others to the point of laying down our lives for our friends, just as God loved us, lavished upon us His grace, and died for us while we were yet sinners.
