Scripture:    Philippians 4:4-20
Summary:   This week, we conclude our study of Paul’s letter to the Philippians.  As Paul gives thanks for his brothers and sisters at Philippi, he writes that he has “learned the secret of being content in every situation, … whether living in plenty or in want.”  Paul also highlights the generosity of the Philippians and their support for him during his missionary journeys.  How do we find contentment, both when we are in need and when we have an abundance?  How can we grow in generosity to see the advance of the gospel, and why does Paul stress that this will be “credited to our account?”  When it comes to the way we relate to material possessions, will we rely on God’s power so we live differently than our culture of consumption, doing “all this through him who gives me strength?”
