Speaker:     George Haraksin
Scripture:    Psalm 40
Summary:     This week we begin a series in the book of Psalms, where we engage ancient wisdom that inspires a modern “playlist” for godly living.  When we enter the Psalms we enter a world where worship is the submission of all of our nature to God, it is the quickening of our conscience by his holiness. We experience the nourishment of our mind with his truth, the purifying of our imagination by his beauty, and the opening of our heart to his love. In the Psalms we learn to surrender our will to his purpose.  Psalm forty is the psalm upon which NewSong Church was founded.  In this psalm we learn what it means to wait on God, to move beyond just “doing our duty” with God, and why glorifying God is more liberating than focusing on my immediate needs.
